• Sanderson Superior Red Krill Oil 1500mg

SANDERSON™ Superior Red Krill Oil 1500mg is rich in phospholipid bound omega-3s that offer greater bio efficiency and better utilization in the body than other forms. Omega-3 phospholipids from krill do not give any aftertaste, because they are water-soluble and so rapidly digested in the stomach. Krill oil has been shown in research to be an effective means of managing healthy cholesterol levels. It has also been demonstrated as a superior support for joint comfort. The antioxidant Astaxanthin which gives krill oil its characteristic red colour is known to cross the blood – brain barrier making krill a potent aid in maintaining healthy brain function. SANDERSON™ Superior Red Krill Oil undergoes minimal processing at low temperatures to reduce any risk of oxidation. The clear red colour is a sign of fresh krill oil. Our oil undergoes unique rapid ship-board processing to maintain freshness. The high astaxanthin content also helps protect our krill oil from oxidation.

Krill oil, like fish oil, contains omega-3 fats such as eicosapentanoic acid (EPA) and docosahexanoic acid (DHA). However, in fish oil, these omega-3 fats are found in the triglyceride form. In krill oil, they are found in a double chain phospholipid structure, the same form as the fats in human cell walls.

Krill oil also contains vitamin E, vitamin A, vitamin D and astaxanthin, which is a potent anti-oxidant. The anti-oxidant potency of krill oil is, in terms of ORAC (Oxygen Radical Absorbance Capacity) values, 48 times more potent than fish oil. The astaxanthin found in krill oil supports resistance against ultraviolet light and UV-induced skin damage.

Less krill oil is needed to achieve the same benefits of omega-3. For example, dosage of omega-3 rich fish oil may be up to 5 grams, compared to only 1 gram of high quality krill oil.

Unlike fish oil, krill oil contains an important and powerful antioxidant called astaxanthin. Quality krill oil supplements will contain high levels of axtaxanthin. Astaxanthin as an antioxidant, helps to make krill oil less perishable, unlike fish oil which is easily damaged when it is exposed to air. The astaxanthin in krill also helps to make it more effective in maintaining joint comfort and mobility, as well as enhancing the neuro-protective qualities of the oil.
